Select a plateau temperature on the digital display (about 10 °C below the expected melting point), then press “Start”.
The block heats rapidly to the plateau (about 20 °C/min) and holds at that temperature until you are ready to test.
Insert the prepared sample tubes into the block and press “Start” again to begin the measurement.
The unit heats at a fixed rate of 2 °C/min for the MP‑200D (previously SMP10) or at a user‑selected rate of 1–10 °C/min for the MP‑200D‑HR-120 (previously SMP20).
When the sample is seen to melt, note the temperature on the display and press “Stop” to end heating and allow the block to cool.
