  • Type L impact energy for testing thin‑walled or small components, typically 2–4 in (50–100 mm) thick, and materials that are sensitive to impact such as cast stone, paper products, and brittle rock cores
  • Supports testing to major standards and recommended methods for Type L applications, including ASTM D5873 and ISRM guidance for rock cores; Type L configurations are also used in concrete applications where low impact energy is required
  • Digital rebound hammer with app‑based workflows for data capture, evaluation, and reporting, significantly reducing preparation and documentation time compared to traditional analog hammers
  • Applications: Concrete, Paper, Geology, Uniformity testing, In-situ strength estimation, Custom correlation to compressive strength
  • Send the report directly from the app to your customers and have your colleagues view it instantly on the Schmidt Live web reporting tool.
  • The Schmidth Live App allows you to:
    • Test in accordance with major standards using guided series workflows, and generate visual reports with lists, charts, and statistics directly in the app
    • Synchronize measurement data from the app to the cloud‑connected web workspace for centralized storage, review, and long‑term traceability
    • Export reports in common formats (PDF, CSV) for single series, multiple series, and test regions, including uniformity and EN 13791 characteristic strength reports
    • Manage hammer verification with reminders and guided procedures so instruments are checked and kept calibrated in line with relevant standards
    • Hear each impact result read out in real time on iOS devices only via the app’s voice read‑out feature, supporting hands‑free operation in the field

Manuals

  1. Power on and connect
    • Switch on the OS8000 and open the Schmidt Live app on your mobile device.
    • Confirm the hammer is shown as connected in the app before you start measuring.
  2. Set up the test in the app
    • Create or select a project, choose the test area, and pick the correct material / correlation curve and standard.
    • Check that the impact angle and unit settings match your test plan.
  3. Take your series of impacts
    • Prepare a clean test spot, place the plunger perpendicular to the surface, and press until the hammer fires.
    • Repeat until the required number of valid impacts is reached (the OS8000 and app track the series and flag invalid readings).
  4. Review, save, and share results
    • Review the average rebound value and, where applicable, the estimated compressive strength and series validity shown in the app.
    • Save the series and use the app’s reporting function to generate and send a report, with results synchronized to the cloud‑connected web workspace for later access.
