Procedure
In a typical scrub test, a coating is applied to the panel at a specified film thickness and allowed to dry. It is then scrubbed with either a Gardco or BYK Scrub Abrasion Tester in accordance with the applicable method to determine the scrub resistance. This is typically measured by the counting the number of cycles necessary to remove the coating, or by measuring the loss of weight of the coating after a specified number of scrub cycles, which enables the calculation of the reduction of film thickness.
