The Gardco Long John Gauge is a simple to use wet film thickness gauge. The low profile (of only 0.25") with the Long John's 5" length, gives added reach capabilities that defy other gauges.

Features

The teeth are incremented 0.0005" to 2.5 mils on one end and 1 mil increments from 3 to 7 mils on the other.
The accuracy of each tooth dimension is 10% of the nominal value.

Procedure

Place gauge on wet film at 90° angle.
Press into film
Withdraw and note deepest tooth having paint on it and next higher tooth that is not coated.
The wet film thickness lies between these two readings.
Clean gauge in any suitable solvent immediately after use.
