Simple - No complicated electronics/no calibration
Highly Accurate
Economically Priced
Determine viscosity easily with these low-cost, simple design viscometers. Made of precision-bore glass tubing with stabilizing flats. Two high-precision balls (glass and 316 stainless steel) are supplied with each instrument. Tantalum is offered as an optional accessory. Useful in many applications from routine plant quality control checks to research laboratories.
Simple to Use
To take a reading, first invert the tube, allowing the ball to enter the Teflon ® screw. Next, restore the tube to normal position. Finally, turn the knob to release the ball, and measure the time of descent with a stop watch. Reproducibility with good technique varies from 0.2 to 1.0%, depending upon time of descent. The ball-release device is sealed with a Viton™ O-ring.‡ Other plastic parts are made of corrosion-resistant Delrin®. Ball moves against a white background with easy-to-read red reference lines.
How to Order
Choose from three models to cover a wide range of viscosities. Model VI-8101 is designed for low-viscosity liquids from 0.2 to 10 cp; model VI-8105 is for viscosities from 2 to 100 cp; and model VI-8109 measures from 20 to 1000 cp. The optional Tantalum ball, effectively doubles the viscosity range. Sold as an accessory, the Tantalum ball must be ordered separately, under Catalog Number VI-8131.
