These Surface Temperature Thermometers feature outstanding response and sensitivity. Their extremely low mass, unique design and weight (1/2 ounce) insures intimate contact with rapid readout. The bimetallic coil rests directly upon the surface to be measured. In response to temperature, the sensor expands or contracts, thus causing the dial itself to rotate.

The temperature of the surface is indicated by means of the hook-like pointer above the dial. Basic thermometer is designed for horizontal or slightly curved surfaces. A magnetic assembly is available for vertical or inclined ferrous surfaces. Ancillary (“max-min”) hands are furnished on certain models to mark the lowest and highest temperatures reached during the thermometer’s exposure.

For non-horizontal ferrous surfaces, or for permanent mounting, a magnet and leaf spring accessory can be used.
