Tramex™ CMEXpert II

Concrete Moisture Meter

For evaluation of moisture condition of concrete, gypsum, cement and other slabs and screeds (as per ASTM F 2659) and humidity measurement to ASTM F 2170 and ASTM F 2420.

The NEW Concrete Encounter CMEXpert II is a digital display version of the Tramex Concrete Encounter CME4 hand-held electronic impedance moisture meter. It operates on the principle of non-destructive impedance measurement.

Parallel co-planar electrodes are mounted on the base which, during operation, transmit a low-frequency signal into the concrete floor. To carry out moisture tests simply brush any dust from a smooth area of concrete and also from electrodes, switch on the CMEX and hold to the surface to read the precentage moisture content. There is absolutely no surface damage and no waiting.

Concrete Encounter CME4

Non-Destructive Moisture Detector

The Concrete Encounter CME 4 is a hand-held electronic moisture meter operating on the principle of non-destructive impedance measurement. Parallel co-planer electrodes are mounted on the base which, during operation, transmit low-frequency signals into the concrete floor screed to a depth of approx. .5 in. (12.5mm).

While concrete under normal conditions can never be completely dry, the instrument has been calibrated on acceptably dry material. In operation it compares the change in impedance caused by the presence of dampness and displays this on a clear, easy-to-read analog dial.

Operating Procedure:

To carry out moisture tests simply brush any dust from a smooth area of concrete and also from electrodes, switch on the Concrete Encounter, place CME 4 firmly onto the surface, fully compressing the spring loaded signal enhancing contacts on the base of the CME 4. Read the moisture content from the clear analog dial.

The CME 4 is calibrated to give percentage moisture content readings on a clean, bare dust free concrete floor slab, thus readings taken on concrete slabs through paint, coatings, adhesives or other materials on the surface of the slab should be regarded as qualitative or comparative and not quantitative.
