In a great many instances, where a combination of dip and spray is used in production, an operator is assigned, full time, to catch and remove the proverbial last drop. This applicator can pick up as well as apply the surplus coating materials. It can be used to coat edges that have been missed in the automatic phase of coating application. It is chisel or wedge shaped to reach into deep corners where sags and runs often occur. Every finishing room should have these on hand in view of the obvious uses. On some occasions, these applicators are used at the assembly and inspection stations in place of the aerosol spray cans or touch-up brushes.
