The Model 316 is an accurate steel hardness tester that can be moved to the material for field testing. Make equivalent Rockwell C measurements on massive or small parts anywhere. Large, heavy items can be tested in-place; smaller parts can be tested when properly supported.
Certification of the included test block in accordance with ASTM E-18 is available upon request for a nominal fee.

Model 316 Portable Steel Hardness Tester includes a hand-held impact indenter assembly, an illuminated 60X measuring microscope, batteries, test block, instructions and carrying case. The light source is a Mini Maglite® coupled to a fiber optic light pipe. The flashlight uses two AAA batteries.
