With a low profile of only 0.250", this simple to use wet film thickness gauge can get into places that previously, gauges could not fit.
The Long John's 5" length gives added reach capabilities that defy other gauges. Gauge lands are incremented 0.0005" to 2.5 mils on one end and 1 mil increments from 3 to 7 mils on the other.
The accuracy of each tooth dimension is 10% of the nominal value.
Place gage on wet film at 90° angle.
Press into film
Withdraw and note deepest tooth
having paint on it and next higher
tooth that is not coated.
The wet film thickness lies
between these two readings.
Clean gage in any suitable
solvent immediately after use.
