These simple, inexpensive comb gauges provide a useful aid to checking the depth of a coating of paint, enamel, lacquer, adhesive or other material that has been applied to a smooth surface.
The combs are precision-ground in stainless steel, supplied in a credit-card size wallet and are easily cleaned in an appropriate solvent with no risk of damage.
Range Step Graduation
A set of three gauges provides an overall range of 0-1200 microns (0-48 thou or mils) as follows:
10-120 microns (0-5 thou) 5 micron
50-600 microns (0-24 thou) 25 micron
100-1200 microns (0-48 thou) 50 micron

This stainless steel gauge is used for the measurement of wet films ranging from 1-32 mils on any substrate. Because it is made from stainless steel, it will withstand abuse and last almost forever.
