Mark II Powder Thickness Gage

The Elcometer 550 Mark II is an easy to use, portable coating thickness gauge calibrated to measure uncured powder coatings on a range of substrate materials. Simply point the probe at the surface to be measured and press the button. LEDs help the user to position the probe, when in position the thickness readings are taken automatically. When the measurement is completed the display shows the thickness of the predicted, cured
coating after polymerization, in either microns or mils (thou).

  • Measures before curing
  • Non-destructive
  • Accurate
  • Simple, quick measurements
  • Fully portable and easy to use
  • Lighter weight and Faster
  • No contact between the probe and the uncured powder
  • Rechargeable battery power supplied
  • LED indicators to show when the probe is positioned

Needs
  • Significant savings on powder usage can be achieved by checking coating thickness before commencing the cure stage.
  • As uncured powder coatings are both soft and fragile, performing an accurate coating thickness measurement has been very difficult until now.
  • Using the Elcometer 550, with its revolutionary non-contact ultrasonic transducer, accurate predicted cured coating thickness measurements of uncured powder can now be made on metal substrates.
