| Posipen® |
| Coating Thickness Gage with Pin Point Accuracy & High Temperature Capability |
| Measures non-magnetic coatings such as paint, enamel, plating, hot-dip galvanizing, etc. on steel. Place the PosiPen with pin-point accuracy on any location of the part to be measured which other gages are not able to reach. | ![]() |
| Posipen Measures |
|
|
| PosiPen has the tiniest unique magnet of any coating thickness gage and therefore can measure on extremely small parts, on peaks and in valleys. | |
| Each PosiPen has a dual mil (inch) and micron (metric) scale as shown below: |
| Model | Range | Tolerance |
| A & B | 0.25 to 20 mils (inch),5 to 500 microns (metric) | ±10% and 0.1 mil, ±10% and 2.5 microns |
| C | 0 to 10 Comparator Scale, 0.25 to 20 mils (inch) | ±10% and 1 unit, ±10% and 0.1 mil |

| Each PosiPen is calibrated to N.I.S.T. Thickness Standards Calibration Certificate is Included. |
| Posipen is Manufactured in Two Versions: |
| PosiPen Model A for measurements on surfaces with normal ambient
temperatures. PosiPen Model B for measuring on surfaces with extreme temperatures between -150°F and +450°F ( -100°C and +230°C) PosiPen Model C for comparing Ferrite content to a known value. |
| Triple Indicator |
|
| Easy To Use |
| Place the tip of the PosiPen on the surface and allow the magnet to contact. Pull the PosiPen straight from the object to be measured while keeping close watch on the appropriate indicator. Note the reading when the magnet releases. |
| Easy To Carry |

Just like a ball point pen, it is always there when you need it. The PosiPen has a very small, rare-earth cobalt magnet adjusted to fit each individual scale to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) calibration Standards. The manufacturer states that this is the smallest magnet of any coating thickness gage. It can measure on the smallest peaks, in the tightest valleys and into previously inaccessible corners. The brass housing is matte-chrome plated to avoid glare. Each housing is machined and engraved. In addition, all letters and numerals are filled with a coating for clear identification. The PosiPen is manufactured in three versions. Model “A” is for measuring on surfaces with normal temperatures. Model “B” has red numerals and is for measuring on surfaces with extreme temperatures. This “hot” version (Model B) is ideal for measuring powder coated items just out of the oven or hot-dip galvanized articles freshly out of the tank. Model "C" is specially designed for measuring both coated thickness in mils at normal temperatures, and for measuring Ferrite Content. |
