Mikrotest®

Coating Thickness Gauge With No Power Supply and No Calibration
All Instruments Conform To National And International Standards (DIN, ISO, BS & ASTM )

Various Models

Mikrotest
  • for paint or electroplating
  • for thin and thick coatings
The balanced measuring system ensures accurate readings at any angle
  • Horizontal, vertical, overhead
  • Curved surfaces
  • Round parts

Mikrotest Features

Two types of gages - manual or fully automatic - for less operating errors.

  • Highest accuracy with simplest operation
  • No calibration necessary. Simple set-up and measurement
  • All gauges are without power or battery
  • Easy to read scale with retention of the reading
  • One point measurement with a non-wearing probe
  • A robust metal case houses the precision measuring system.
  • Resistant to mechanical shocks, acids and solvents.

Measuring Principle

The measurement of the coating thickness is dependent on magnetic attraction. The attractive force is related to the distance between a permanent magnet and a steel substrate. This distance represents the thickness of the coating to be measured. The magnet is lifted from the surface by means of a spring connected to the magnet arm. The spring is tensioned by means of the thumb wheel and the coating thickness is shown directly on the scale.
