Model 126 Dial Thickness Gage

A portable, easy to use dial gage to measure coating thicknesses on all substrates. The dial gage is mounted on a base foot and is fitted with a precision ground rounded tip. A small portion of the coating is removed and the gage foot is pressed onto the test surface. The rounded tip projects through the hole to the substrate to indicate coating thickness on the dial. One rotation of the dial point is 200 microns (0.010"). Available in metric or imperial scale. Scale division - 2 μm (0.0001"). 126 Dial Thickness Gage

Operating Instructions

  1. Release the outer knurled ring by rotating the clamping screw counter-clockwise.
  2. Set the gage to zero by placing it on to the glass sample provided. Then adjust the outer knurled ring to read zero against the pointer.
  3. Remove a portion of the coating so that the spring-loaded tip can project down to the substrate.
  4. Place the gage on to the surface to be measured. The coating thickness is then indicated on the dial in microns or mils (thous), according to the scale
