The Drying Time Recorder utilizes a spring wound motor capable of withstanding temperatures up to 500°F. The motor is encased in a metal housing supported by three legs.
An armature extends vertically from the motor shaft and is attached to a horizontal counter balanced arm. At one end of the arm is a teflon ball stylus that extends downward to the surface. At the opposite end of the arm is a counter-weight that can be adjusted to balance the arm. A 12 gram weight is supplied to be mounted on top of the ball stylus shaft. The weight load on the ball can be adjusted by the operator so that results will closely coincide with the finger touch method of determining drying time. |
