| 2-Path Precision Wet Film Applicators |

| Precision Wet Film Applicators are simple, yet accurate tools which lay down a uniform thickness of film for observation and testing. Their reliability has made them a standard in both experimental and quality control situations. A small quantity (depending on length and thickness of film required) of the material to be checked is placed on the inside of the channel near the correct opening for the thickness desired. The applicator is then drawn down over a chart, plate glass or other smooth flat surface producing a layer of uniform thickness of film. 2-Path models are made of chrome-plated tool steel or stainless steel. See the illustrations to determine the differences in format. All applicators are calibrated to actual clearance. Film thickness deposited may vary from 40% to 80% of the actual clearance. |
| After deciding which clearances are desired and the width of the film path, select a tool steel or stainless steel applicator based on conformation and use. The order code begins with the film width, followed by the least clearance and then the greater clearance. For example, an AP-U4610TS is a "U" type tool steel applicator with a 4" film width, 6 mil clearance on one side and a 10 mil clearance on the other. Overall length is 5". An AP-SS4610 is made of stainless steel. |
